Is Toyota Being Vilified? By Paul Tomori Tuesday, March 02, 2010 at 15:10:43 (EST) Is it just me or is Toyota being unfairly lambasted over the alleged defects in their cars? The American media has been all over this topic and the government has held Toyota to a seemingly double-standard. Afterall, where are the bold headlines about GM's latest recall? 1.3 million cars recalled for alleged power steering problems! Have a read: GM Recall as seen at CNN.com And how about Nissan's latest recall of 540,000 vehicles: Nissan Recall as reported by CNN.com I love America. However, I think when a government gets into bed with a major private enterprise like the Americans did with GM, it's going to create big conflicts of interest. The US Government actually owns a stake in General Motors now. It kind of makes you wonder what their agenda is when they roast Toyota like they have in the last 8 weeks.
